Internet Resources • Advantages: • Easy to use Yahoo or Google • Requires no special software • Lots of information • Disadvantages: • It is not regulated • Sources may be outdated, inaccurate, or unreliable • Time consuming • Requires practice • No support • NSU Library Databases • Advantages: • Reliable -sources are pre-selected and screened for authority, accuracy, and content. • Citations and articles are available • Free access as NSU students to over 2 million dollars worth of subscription only databases • Time saving • Reference Desk Support • Disadvantages: • Requires a little practice. • Requires this presentation

An Overview of Business Databases • ABI ProQuest, H W Wilson: research analysis, peer-reviewed articles • Emerald: scholarly articles in different business aspects • EIU Country Intelligence, WorldData: countries analysis, global countries and industries data. • LexisNexis Academic: industry and market news, bankruptcy reports. • Mergent Online: company profiles and financial information, SEC filing . • S&P NetAdvantage: stock reports, Industry Surveys. • Wharton Research Data Services (Compustat): company financial statements, security prices and trading volume
