My Profile My name is Lorie Furches Batterman. I am currently working on my Associates Degree in Computers at RCCC. I am a life long learner, already having a BS in Biology and an MAT in Secondary Education. I am a highly organized, self starter, who enjoys creating and problem solving. I like working with a group or alone. I am married and have a dog. I am originally from Tennessee. I moved to Concord to teach high school. I taught for 14 years, after teaching for 3 years at ETSU. I have found it difficult to deliver what students deserve in this atmosphere of cutting and blaming and over-testing, so I decided it was time to change to my second love, computers. I always enjoyed writing programs and debugging them. I have always had a knack for using technology and helping others to use it, too. I also enjoy the creativity of using technology and making things (databases, web pages, etc.) with technology. Click here for table of contents.

Conclusions/Thoughts: The class was easy to keep up with and I did learn about some software about which I was not as well informed. The lose structure was good for me, because I could work at my own pace. I learned a lot about Excel, because I had not really used it before. I would have liked it if all of the semester had been available from the beginning, so I could have worked ahead even more.
