  2. A Simple Start • We are to have the mind of Christ. • He said in Matthew 7:24-27 (wise man, foolish man). • What do we do to leave our comfort zones? • We start with the simple things, the ABC’s

  3. Attendance • It is more comfortable not to come. But this is not the point. (Matt. 16:24) • “Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

  4. Attendance • “Fisher’s of men.” (Matt. 4:19) • And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

  5. Attendance By attending you exhort me! (Hebrews 10:25). not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

  6. Bible Study • It is easier to be entertained! However, Psalm 1. Mind is not idle! • 1Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;2but his delight is in the lawof the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 

  7. Bible Study • By studying we… • Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

  8. Bible Study • Bereans “more noble” • (Acts 17:11) • Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. They left their comfort zone!

  9. Christ Like • It’s easier to conform but look at (Romans 12:1-2) • I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

  10. Christ Like • By following Christ we let our light shine. (Matt. 5:16) • In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

  11. Christ Like • Paul counted it all as rubbish (Philippians 3:8) • Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

  12. Easy as ABC • It’s as easy as ABC, but harder than making no progress at all! • Attend the Services • 2) Study the Bible • 3) Imitate the Christ
