Learning Goals • Being a good citizen means that you have rights, freedoms, and responsibilities. • Voting is an important responsibility. • Government provides us with services people want and need. • In order to pay for services, governments need to collect taxes. • Government makes laws and decides if laws have been broken. • The president is the leader of the United States of America
Citizen • A citizen is a member of a community. • Citizens have freedoms, rights, and responsibilities. • As a citizen it is our responsibility to obey the laws, to pay taxes, and to vote.
