  3. Practical • One 1 hour practical session two times each week. • Starting this week. • Your attendance will be recorded.

  4. Assessment Made up from: • 2 midterms each 15% • Assignments 5% • and Quizzes 5% • Lab 20% • Final 40% • Total (100%)

Exam Schedule • Exam dates: • Quiz1: Week#7Sunday 19/3/2016 – 20-6-1438H • Midterm1: Week#8 Sunday 26/3/2016 – 27-6-1438H • Quiz2: Week#13 Sunday 30/4/2017 – 4-8-1438H • Midterm2: Week#14 Sunday 7/5/2016 – 11-8-1438H • Quiz3: Week#15 Sunday 14/5/2017 – 28-8-1438H If you have an overlap please inform me within one week; otherwise, I will stick to these dates.

  6. Cheating Policy • Cheating is prohibited, so if we caught any identical assignments both will take -10 in the first copy and -20 to the second one and so on.  • Why does cheating occur? It usually occurs because you run out of time to do an assignment, and feel you have no other way of completing the assignment!!!!

  7. Cheating Policy Cont’d So, how can you prevent this urge to cheat from overcoming you? • Do not wait to start the assignment until a few days before it is due. This is guaranteed to cause you problems. • Do not hesitate to get help from the TA's or myself if you find yourself stumped or unable to begin an assignment. 

  8. Absence Policy If you fail to attend any examination: • You should fill the excuse form and bring it to me within one week after the exam. • You will not be allowed to have a makeup exam unless you have a very strong excuse. • You will go for a comprehensive exam ONLY after the exam's committee accepts your excuse.

Aims of CSC301 • Design, implement and evaluate effective and usable graphical computer interfaces. • Describe and apply core theories, models and methodologies from the field of HCI. • Implement simple graphical user interfaces. • Describe special considerations in designing user interfaces for older adults.
