PROJECT AIMS THE PROJECT IS FUNDED BY THE HELEN HAMLYN TRUST,U.K. FilmIt India is a multi-cultural project in which students from the middle school make films on the heritage of their city and are shared with students in India and UK through a website http://openfutures.info/filmit/ Heritage Education and Communication Service

  8. PROJECT TIMELINE(2008-2013) • 2008-09- Schools in Delhi • 2009-10-Added Chennai and Kolkata • 2010-11-Added Goa • 2011-12-Added Hyderabad • 2012-13-Added Mumbai • 2013-14 –Added Chandigarh Covering 7 cities and a total of 80 schools Heritage Education and Communication Service

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE PROJECT • Gave the students an experience of technology to go back to their roots and appreciate their heritage.800 films …….. • Made the students share their local heritage stories • Interactions of school students during workshops and film festivals • Collaborations with organizations like India International Centre, Sunaparanta Centre for Arts etc • Showcasing films on Doordarshan,national television network • Showcased in Film festivals like Kolkata Film Festival • Submission of films for International Film Federation India My INTACH experience!To build up a story line, we went back to historyWe dug out the heritage with a lot of mystery We learnt the technicalities and the nuances of movie making Understood the importance of continuity and editing We learnt to be open minded and co -operativeWithout creating a fuss Team spirit was imbibed in us !!
