The point on LDC limitations • Some measurements were done by FT to prove efficiency of activity factor limitation as a mitigation technique. • Results were presented at ECC TG3 in December • They shows that : • an unrestricted UWB device jam a weak Wimax link • Limitation of activity factor can overcome this issue
The point on LDC limitation What's currently under consideration is : • Ton max = 5 ms • Toff min = 250 µs • Toff mean = 38 ms with Σ Toff > 944 ms per second • ΣTon< 5% per second and 0.5% per hour But : • Other measurements with Wimax are on-going and could change thoses values (Next TG3 meeting : 14-16 February, and ECC meeting end of March) • 4G and IMT-Advanced also need to be considered.
The point on LDC limitation Next TG3 meeting in February 2006 : • Resolution of the 67 comments from the Public consultation on the ECC Decision • Output from the February-TG3 to the March-ECC meeting = • a proposed revision of the Decision resolving the comments, • if TG3 discussions on LDC does not reach a consensus for integration of the LDC solution in the revised Decision, then some recommendations will be prepared for the ECC listing the pros and cons on LDC as a mitigation technique Next ECC meeting end of March : • Should finalize the Decision and decide whether the LDC solution shall be in it or not.
