  1. The Perfect Daily Skincare Routine Applying your skincare in the correct order is key in making sure you get the full benefits of each product. You can have the best skincare products out there but if you're applying them in the wrong order, they can be less or even ineffective. For example, applying moisturizer before serum can block the serum from absorbing properly. So without further ado, here's the correct lineup in which to apply your skincare. 1. Cleanser A clean canvas is necessary for the rest of your products to do their job. Start by removing any makeup, dirty and oil reside with a gentle cleanser. If you’re wearing makeup, you’ll want to first remove it using a micellar water or gentle makeup wipe. Follow it up with a gentle yet effective cleanser like our cleansing milk. The milky formula deep cleans without stripping skin of its natural lipid layer, and is perfect for the dry air of winter. Use a chemical exfoliant for a more thorough cleanse once or twice a week depending on your skin’s tolerance. 2. Toner There's been some debate over whether or not a toner is necessary and the answer is absolutely. After cleansing, wipe away any leftover residue with a quick swipe of toner on a cotton pad. This will pick up any leftover dirt and leave your pores squeaky clean and oil-free so that your power products can work their magic. 3. Spot Treatment or Mask Prescription medications and spot treatments need to be applied as close to the skin as possible for maximum effectiveness. Give them around three to five minutes to soak in before applying your next product.

  2. If you’re using a mask, you’ll want to give it around 15 minutes on average to make sure it fully absorbs. 4. Serum Serums are the heavy-lifters of the skincare world. Chock full of hero ingredients you want as close to the skin as possible. If you're applying more than one, a good rule of thumb is to apply thinner formulas first followed by thicker treatments. 5. Eye Cream The undereye area is the most delicate part of your face and the first to show signs of aging. Tap on your eye cream, making sure not to tug, using your ring finger. The patting motion will also help to depuff and increase circulation to the area. 6. Moisturizer Moisturize using a facial oil, day cream, or night cream depending on the time of day and your skincare needs. Night creams are generally thicker and designed to be absorbed over several hours. In the mornings however you want to opt for something lighter. A fast-absorbing oil is good for skin that needs nourishment and recovery. Feeling extra dry? Use a cream moisturizer first and then layer your favorite oil on top for extra dewy skin. Whatever the form, moisturizer locks in the products you've applied previously so they can work their magic while your skin is protected from urban exposure. But remember to experiment with the layering of products to find the routine that is best for you. Normal to oily skin care types might not do well with too many serums or heavy, rich products being used all at once. And no matter your routine, we definitely recommend keeping it clean.
