  2. Things to remember: • School rules • Healthy Eating Policy • Uniform, punctuality, attendance. • Behaviour • Reward system

  3. Homework • One hour per night • Good routine, good environment • Mental maths/Tables • Spellbound/Sentences • Look, say, cover, write, check. • Sentences – to check for understanding of meaning • Gaeilge – spellings and exercise • Reading • Some other subjects too.

  4. Purpose of homework • Initiative, practice, time management, preparation, responsibility, time for learning, completion, home-school link. • Students must take responsibility for their work… • “I forgot…” • “I didn’t take my homework down properly!” • Don’t get stressed, stay positive – talk to me!

  5. Sensitive/Personal issues • Family circumstances • Health/hygiene concerns • Importance of personal hygiene
