Instructor Info Our instructors bring a wealth of experience who are current or retired members of law enforcement agencies, and or are firearms enthusiasts with years of experience in teaching and handling of firearms. We deliver only the approved RCMP firearms course and all of our instructors have earned their firearms instructor designation from Chief Firearms Officer of Ontario. Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC/Non-Restricted) This course is an introductory level course and provides license holders privileges of the non-restricted class of firearms. Non-restricted firearms are primarily manual repeating long guns: Rifles and Shotguns. Some semi-automatic center fire long guns also fall in non-restricted class provided their barrel is greater than 470mm (18.5 inches) in length.
Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC/Non-Restricted) Topics covered in the Canadian Firearms Safety Course: • Major types, parts and actions of firearms. • Basic firearms safety practices • Different types of ammunition • Operating firearms actions • Firing techniques • Care/cleaning of non-restricted firearms. • Responsibilities as a firearms owner: Safe storage, display and transportation.
Canadian Restricted Firearms Course (CRFSC/Restricted): • Majority of the handguns and semi-automatic rifles in Canada can be classified as restricted firearms if they arecenterfire semi-automatic firearms with a barrel length greater than 105mm (4.1 inches) unless otherwise classified by RCMP. • In order to participate and challenge the exam for this course, CFSC is required as a pre-requisite.
