  7. Living It Healthy Workplace Council • Represents health needs and interests of employees, physicians & volunteers • Report directly to CEO • Twenty-two members • Union, non-union & management • Equity among membership

  9. Living It We Don’t Smoke Here Anymore • Tobacco use removed from CH facilities and grounds May 31, 2003 • Tobacco intervention program for staff

Living It Workplace Health Promotion Grants • Recognizes peoples ability to understand their own needs and create their own solutions • Awards $75, 000 every year • Staff applies for grants ranging from $500.00 - $5000.00 • In three years - 126 projects funded across the district at close to $225,000

  13. What’s Ahead? • Evaluation of progress toward a healthy workplace as per goals and objectives set in 2002 • Employee Survey 2004 and repeat 2006 • Continue to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion activities based on employee needs
