Why participating contractors are special • Active California State License Board license holder and properly insured and bonded • Pre-screened by PG&E • At least one Building Performance Institute-certified building analyst on staff • Working knowledge of applying building science within whole-house approach to improve building performance • Completed a participation workshop • Handles the rebate paperwork on behalf of the home owner • Agreed to a rigorous QA procedure, including random field verifications and home owner surveys • Required to pull all necessary building permits for every job and follow current building codes

Santa Clara County Rebates ENERGY ASSESSMENT REBATES (Test-in, Test-out) • Remove high cost of uncertainty in getting started • Assure $400,000 dedicated to rebates is spent • Cover 80% of the cost of a energy assessment • Up to $800 test-in and $800 test-out ($1600 total) • Paid directly to Energy Upgrade Participating Contractors (who sign service agreements with the County) • Paid after test-in and/or test-out assessments
