Step 2: Simulate Conditions The Spartan Races consist of obstacles that involve conditions that are targeted to make races difficult. Conditions of Mud, Sand or Water are present to basically to push athletes during the race. It is important to simulate these conditions before hand in-order to perform well. Running through muddy terrain, wooden area’s & places that mimic these conditions can leave you confident and aware of what you will eventually encounter.
Step 3: Don’t be this Guy! Learn to be aware even when you are fatigue. It also is important to understand that this race also can cause physical pain. Try not to be this guy! I’m sure he had also tagged his girlfriend along and this is not exactly what you would want a special girl to witness. “Protect your ass” be versatile and quick. Good ways of increasing versatility is agility drills and footwork on a ladder. Quick feet, and shifty movement also can help your performance so these are physical skills you may want to work on in preparation of the SPARTAN RACE.
Step 4 : Build your confidence Prepare yourself mentally rather then just physically. Show no signs of weakness and understand that with your body being tested physically it may put a toll on the mental state. Fire wood burning & crawling under barbed-wired lines in mud are ways to decrease a warriors confidence. Positive preparation is what will make you move fast and even more calm. Most people get so worked up, that they have a tendency to seem fatigue before the race has even started. Take that into consideration and understand that only positivity will raise your performance.
