  2. Asbestos is a big deal • It used to be used to help fireproof houses, however, it was since outlawed after it was revealed that asbestos causes respiratory problems and cancer. • But just how dangerous is it? Take a look.

  3. 2000 deaths per year • Asbestos is accredited as the cause of an averaged estimate of 2000 deaths per year in the UK alone. • These deaths are caused by respiratory complications and lung cancer.

  4. 120 lung cancer cases • Every year, an average of 120 lung cancer cases are marked as asbestos related, despite the material being outlawed at the turn of the century.

  5. 315 disablement cases • An average of 315 disablement cases per year are due to the effects of asbestos fibre inhalation.
