The 2016 Nominations and Awards Program in Region 6 aims to honor deserving individuals and organizations, while inspiring others to achieve more. Submit nominations to recognize outstanding accomplishments within the 5 areas and 35 sections. This program, with clear rules and procedures, allows members and volunteers to feel appreciated and motivated. Join us in celebrating excellence and driving growth in Region 6. Purpose and Goals of the Award program Honor deserving people and OUs. Inspire people and OUs to achieve more. This makes members and volunteers feel good and also appreciated.

IEEE / MGA Rules • Award nominations must be made by an active IEEE member registered in your Section. You may not nominate yourself. • You may not nominate an Awards Chair. You may not nominate a Section Chair if they are acting as the Awards Chair. • The nominees must be within your own Section. Except for the Outstanding Educator, they must be current IEEE members.
All New Awards Documents • Clearly spells out rules and procedures • Defines the 11 awards categories with examples of previous winners • A new nomination form – easy to use and easy to understand • Section awards nominations are due on May 13, 2016 (works better with students)
To Do list • Put the awards documents on your Section and Area webpages asap • Appoint a Section Awards Chair if possible. • Even if not possible, you still need three total people for your Section awards committee. • Send out e-notices to your Section members announcing the awards program. Advertise your website’s awards page.
