Application Process • Apply online at www.CSUMentor.edu October 1st through November 30th • Official transcripts from each college or university attended and application fee must be received by February 1st • Applications will not be reviewed until all transcripts are received
You have been admitted! • ASAP Make a reservation for summer orientation after submitting Intent to Enroll • June 1 Last date to submit the Intent to Enroll & pay Enrollment Deposit ($150) • July 15Mandatory deadline to receive all final documents: - Final official transcript(s) showing completion of all requirements for admission - Test scores (AP/IB/CLEP) Admissions offers will be rescinded for applicants failing to meet deadlines or admission criteria upon final review
How do I check my status? • A user name and password will be sent via email • Students MUST visit MyCSUSM to check their “TO DO” list regularly • Our principle means of communication will be EMAIL • Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis
Local Admissions Area • Local Admission Area = Palomar College, Mira Costa College and Mount San Jacinto College • Visit www.csusm.edu/admissions, select impaction information for further details • Initial admission decisions based on CSU minimums: • 60 transferable semester units • 2.0 GPA • Completion of Oral Communication, Written Communication, Critical Thinking, and Quantitative Reasoning/Mathematics with “C” or better by the end of spring 2013 term
Non-Local Admissions Area • Initial admission decisions based on CSU eligibility on space available basis • Additional CSU impaction criteria will be utilized including higher admission eligibility criteria and potential wait list offers • Visit www.csusm.edu/admissions, select impaction information for further details
Impacted Programs • Selection of major does not impact the admission decision • Students are admitted in “pre-major” status • Separate screening criteria within each major are used to allow students to declare these majors after students have been admitted • Five Impacted majors: • Business Administration • Communication • Mass Media • Kinesiology • Nursing (supplementary application required)
AA/AS-T Application Process • CSUSM application process deadlines (ex: CSU Mentor application by November 30th, transcripts by February 1st, etc.) • Mail, fax or deliver a copy of the AA/AS-T evaluation form to CSUSM by April 1st • Final official transcript /diploma showing completion of AA/AS-T Degree must be received by July 15thor admission offer may be rescinded for non-local area applicants
AA/AS-T Degree Programs • Local admissions area admitted with minimum eligibility requirements: 60 units, 4 basic subjects, 2.0 GPA • Non- local admissions area applicants will receive a .2 increase in cumulative GPA for the purpose of the evaluation Similar Majors CSUSM Degrees Art History , Studio Arts & Theatre Arts Visual & Performing Arts Communication Communication* or Mass Media* Elementary Teacher Education Liberal Studies English Literature and Writing Studies History History Mathematics Mathematics Music Music Physics Physics Political Science Political Science Psychology Psychology Sociology Sociology *Impacted Major
AA/AS-T Degree Programs • Advising Services will provide planning guidance and timely access to AA/AS-T students through a variety of service approaches, such as: • Express Advising/ Drop in Advising: For quick check in guidance • Scheduled Appointments: To ensure progress toward degree • E-Advisor: To readily access and receive academic advising • Students will also be able to access their degree progress 24/7 via their Academic Requirement Report
