To keep the weight down, it is made out of Ergal, an aluminum alloy. It also fires from the bottom cylinder rather than the top as nearly all other revolvers do, which can help reduce muzzle flip. The hammer is inside, and the external “hammer” is actually a linkage handle that moves back into place once cocked.
