Main Objective of Round Robin Tour Provide an Overview of ALDOT’s Research Program to Research Universities/Partners Every Two Years • Provide an Orientation/Discussion Session on the Following Topics: • Research proposal format and requirements • ALDOT’s research funding source information • Research proposal approval/disapproval process from beginning to end • ALDOT’s General Agreement with universities/partners • Discuss ALDOT’s organizational structure
Discuss Research Program Peer Exchange Results • Accomplishments of research program and universities/partners • Opportunities for research program improvements
Discussion of ALDOT’s Research Needs • Challenging areas for ALDOT • Specifications/Policies changes • History of past performed research • Possible future RFP submissions
Researchers’ Area of Expertise • Allow researchers to discuss their expertise and past performed research • Provide researchers with a POC within ALDOT who work within their Area • Discuss a tentative time for researchers to visit ALDOT and meet with the POC
Results • Research proposals are in line with ALDOT ‘s research needs • Research proposals submitted in a timely manner for review • Improved relationship between ALDOT and research universities/partners • Universities/Partners feel there is fair competition for ALDOT’s research • ALDOT become familiar with universities/partners research capabilities, equipment and facilities • Promote collaboration between universities/partners
