  3. The Early Life… She was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She did her schooling from St. Angela Sophia High School, Jaipur. She completed her B.com from this college and later on went to Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai. She has even done a professional course in which she studied cost accountancy from Institute of Cost Accounts of India.

  4. Career Kochhar joined the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) in 1984 as a management trainee. This had laid the career foundation for her and she found success from there on. In 1993, Kochhar was appointed to be a part of the team, who were responsible for establishing the bank we all know today as ICICI Bank. She played a key role in this project and ultimately it was a grand success. 2009 was a turning point for her as she was assigned the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI bank.

  5. aCHIEVEMENTS she is one true role model for other women in this country. For her sheer excellence and hard work in the financial sector, effective leadership in a time of economic crisis and support for engaged business practices, she also received an honorary doctorate from Carleton University. In 2011, she was also awarded the Padma Bhushan.
