Kashmir • Kashmir not joined to either side • Both India (majority Hindu)& Pakistan (majority Muslim) want Kashmir • Minor conflicts fought from 1950 through 2004 • Over 20,000 people killed
Kashmir • India claims ruler of Kashmir agreed to join India before passing away, therefore should be part of India • Majority of population in Kashmir is Muslim, Pakistan claims it should therefore be part of Pakistan
