SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA COLLECTION • WITH THE SAME SOFTWARE 4 CODED FILES ARE FORMED IN A BINARY FORM IN THE PERSONAL COMPUTER NAMELY *.MRI *.RDG *.SUR *.AMR
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • FOR THE METER: • SPECIAL ENERGY METER MAY BE PERIODICALLY CHECKED FOR THE LOW VOLTAGE L.E.D. INDICATION AS PER THE SPECIFICATION • THE PUSH BUTTON DISPLAY ON THE FRONT PANEL MAY BE MADE USE OF, FOR PERIODICAL CHECKING OF VARIOUS PARAMETERS MEASURED OR COMPUTED BY THE METER
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • FOR THE DATA COLLECTING DEVICE (DCD) • IT IS PREFERRED TO USE A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY WITH THE DCD BEFORE EVERY WEEKS DATA COLLECTION. A SPARE BATTERY AND BATTERY CHARGER ARE GIVEN WITH EACH DCD TO ENABLE RECHARGING OF USED BATTERY
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • IF BATTERY LOW INDICATION COMES DURING DATA COLLECTION, OLD BATTERY SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE DCD UNTIL A NEW (FULLY CHARGED) BATTERY IS READY CLOSE BY FOR REPLACEMENT. DCD SHOULD BE IN OFF POSITION WHILE BATTERY REPLACEMENT IS MADE AND CHANGING BATTERY SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN 30 SECONDS OTHERWISE DATA WILL BE LOST. IT IS SUGGESTED TO USE SEMS MAINS ADAPTER TO POWER THE DCD WHILE THE BATTERY IS CHANGED WHICH MEANS THAT THE POWER SUPPLY TO DCD IS UNINTERRUPTED AND THERE IS NO HURRY TO FIT NEW BATTERY
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • FOR THE SEM DATA COLLECTION • ALL THE METER DATA IS TO BE COLLECTED UNIFORMLY ON THE SAME DAY i.e. MONDAY AFTER 0030 HRS. • IF THE LINE OR ICT TO WHICH THE SEM IS CONNECTED IS IN OPEN CONDITION AT THE TIME OF DATA COLLECTION, A VT SECONDARY SUPPLY OF 63.51V PHASE-NEUTRAL (SINGLE PHASE IS SUFFICIENT), FROM AN ADJACENT ICT OR LINE, IS TO BE EXTENDED TO THE METER FOR COLLECTING THE DATA STORED IN METERS MEMORY
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • FOR THE METER DATA: • SEM DATA WHEN DUMPED INTO THE PERSONAL COMPUTER HAS TO BE SCANNED FIRST FOR DATA CORRECTNESS AND COMPLETENESS • WHILE SCANNING, THE FOLLOWING ARE TO BE CHECKED MAINLY • (I) 15 MIN. Whr. DATA FORMAT SHOULD BE XX.XX (WITH PROPER SIGN), ALL NUMERALS, COMPUTER VIRUS MAY CHANGE THIS FORMAT
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • (ii) 15 MIN. FREQUENCY DATA FORMAT SHOULD BE XX ALL NUMERALS (FROM 00 TO 99). COMPUTER VIRUS MAY CHANGE THIS FORMAT. • (iiii) DATA SHOULD BE COMPLETE FOR 9 FULL DAYS AND PART FOR THE 10TH DAY
SPECIAL ENERGY METER PRECAUTION • (iv) STAR MARKS IN 15 MIN. TIME BLOCKS INDICATING LOW VOLTAGE I.E. AVERAGE VOLTAGE < 70% P.U. SHOULD BE CROSS CHECKED WITH CORRESPONDING VOLTAGE RECORDING IN THE S/S CONTROL ROOM • (v) ANY TIME CORRECTIONS CARRIED OUT IN THE SEM SHOULD RELFECT IN THE RAW DATA AS ‘rr’ OR ‘aa’ IN SIX CONSECUTIVE 15 MIN. TIME BLOCKS STARTING FROM THE TIME OF CORRECTION.
SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA TRANSFER • AFTER PRELIMINARY SCANNING OF RAW DATA, EACH SUB-STATION TRANSMITTS TO SRLDC ON DOT LINES STD /LOCAL INTERNET PUNCOM/HOTLINE ONCE IN A WEEK AT EARLY HOURS EVERY MONDAY
SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA TRANSFER • THE SEM DATA IS ALSO COPIED ON A VIRUS FREE FLOPPY AND SENT BY COURIER TO SRLDC BY EACH S/S ON EVERY MONDAY AS A BACKUP MEASURE
SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA CHECK • THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPED BY SRLDC IS USED FOR CHECKING THE SEM DATA RECEIVED FROM SUBSTATION FOR COMPLETENESS AND CORRECTNESS • PRELIMINARY CHECKING OF DATA CORRECTNESS FOR SYNTAX • CHECKING OF DATA FOR COMPLETENESS FOR THE DESIRED PERIOD OF ACCOUNTING • SPLIT THE RAW DATA INTO A DATA BASE (DAYWISE & METERWISE)
SPECIAL ENERGY METER VARIOUS CHECKS • FOLLOWING CHECKS ARE ALSO MADE TO PROVE DATA VALIDITY AND STRENGTH OF METER STORAGE CAPABILITY • VOLTAGE PROBLEM • FREQUENCY • TIME CORRECTION • WATTHOUR PROBLEM • PREVIOUS WEEK DATA • ALGEBRAIC SUM
SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA COMPUTING • AFTER OBTAINING SATISFACTORY RESULTS OF VARIOUS CHECKS, THE RAW DATA IN WHr IS CONVERTED INTO MWhr BY MULTIPLYING WITH RESPECTIVE METERS CT RATIO AND PT RATIO • A PAIRS CHECK IS ALSO CARRIED OUT FOR THE METERS CONNECTED ON BOTH SIDE OF ICTS, LINES AND GT SIDE & LINE SIDE AT CGS
SPECIAL ENERGY METER DATA COMPUTING • IN SUCH CASES WHEN A SET CONDITION IS NOT SATISFIED .AND. IF THE LOW VOLTAGE PROBLEM EXISTS .AND. IF THE MAGNITUDE OF MAIN METER IS LESS THAN THAT OF THE STANDBY METER FOR THE CORRESPONDING LINE BLOCK, THEN THIS PARTICULAR MAIN METERS ENERGY IS REPLACED BY CORRESPONDING VALUE OF CHECK METER • THIS CHECK FACILITATES DETECTING OF MAL-FUNCTIONING/MIS-BEHAVIOUR OF METERS USED FOR ACCOUNTING
SPECIAL ENERGY METER ENERGY ACCOUNT • USING THE COMPUTED DATA, SOME FICTITIOUS METERS ARE DEFINED, LIKE THE FOLLOWING, TO COMPUTE REGIONAL ENERGY ACCOUNTS • I) TOTAL DRAWAL BY A CONSTITUENT AT A STATION • II) TOTAL DRAWAL BY A CONSTITUTION IN THE REGION • III) TOTAL INJECTION BY A CGS EX-BUS • IV) PLOTTING LOAD CURVES/UTILITY CURVES FOR ANALYSIS AND LOAD MANAGEMENT
SPECIAL ENERGY METER ENERGY ACCOUNT • (V) DAILY REACTIVE ENERGY DRAWAL BY CONSTITUENTS. • USER CAN CREATE OUTPUT FILES AS DESIRED BY SUITABLY MODIFYING THE CONFIGURATION FILES (FICT METERS) IN THE PROGRAM
