Small Business Resource Power Point Series Writing Website Copy That Sells
Attention! You must capture your customers attention within the first couple of seconds. Make your first headline attention grabbing and interesting, so it pulls the customer in and encourages them to read on. Don’t lose your customer with irrelevant blurb!
Be Of Interest Now that you’ve got your customers attention, develop the interest in your product or service. Tell the customer the benefits they will gain from your product or service. Don’t talk about yourself at this point, focus on what your product can do for your customer.
Are You Trustworthy? Of course you are! But you need to show your customers your trustworthiness, and one of the best ways of achieving this is with testimonials. Testimonials should back up your claims and this is the point to put a couple in.
More On Testimonials Testimonials must be real! Use the writers full name and town, not just initials as these tend to look as if they may be bogus. If possible, get the writers permission to quote their e-mail address so customers know they can contact this person to check that the testimonial is genuine.
Guarantee Offer a no-quibble, money back guarantee. You will then be seen to stand behind your product 100%. This will increase customer confidence and portray a caring image.
Be Available! Make certain your contact details are obvious, and that you sound friendly and approachable. A good phrase to use could be “If you require any further information or assistance do not hesitate to call me on …..”
Hurry! Buy Now! A tried and tested formula for selling is the ‘limited time’ offer, and for the simple reason that it really works! Build a sense of urgency with a special offer price and tell the customer - when it’s gone, it’s gone! If they don’t act now, they may lose out!
Make It Simple Make it easy for your customer to order. Use a ‘CLICK HERE’ button to go straight to your order page. Or a statement urging them to phone – “Call this number to place your order now….”
Go On, You Know You Want To. Your customer has got this far, so reassure him that he wants, needs, and indeed deserves your product. Re-state how much easier, or better life will be with your product or service. This last reminder could just clinch the sale!
And Finally….. End with a PS, reminding your customer of your fantastic limited time offer. You could also use this opportunity to throw in an added bonus such as order now and get such and such free or an extra % off. This is your last opportunity so, get that sale!
