  3. What was it for? • To inspire members of the refugee community to think about starting a business or social enterprise. • To help refugees to make contact with organisations that can help take these ideas forward.

  4. What happened? 25 refugees attended. Why so much interest? Refugees are good at business! Marks and Spencer, Burtons, Pataks

  8. A local entrepreneur The first supplier of halal meat and specialist Asian food in Leigh. • AsimYassin – talked about what it is like to start up your own business: lonely, exciting, risky.

  10. What ideas? Paul Carroll , an “Enterprise Coach” has met with 5 refugees this week to help them explore the idea of starting up their own business. Refugees are attending 3 training sessions from the HMRC on tax and running your own business. !
