Hydrodynamic Design • Myring Hull Contour Design [H1] • 3 compartments: • Nosecone • Mid-section • Tailpiece • Major developments since previous year. • Smaller more hydrodynamically efficient and machinable design. • Diameter is 25% narrower • Length is 33% shorter • Antennae added for improved communication. • Hull designed to withstand more pressure • Rated to 20 meter depths. • Increased speed goal • Speed goal increased from 3 to 5 knots Myring Hull Contour [H1] RAV Design
Control Surface Design • Control Surface configuration changed due to addition of active buoyancy system • 2 vertical and 2 horizontal stabilators • Control Surfaces for Trimming • Dive Planes size determined by Force difference between CB & CG • Rudder size determined by force from CG displacement from centerline • Low Speed Dynamic Seals • Spring Loaded Rotary Shaft Seals • 4 Individual Servo’s • Possibility for future roll control RAV Tail Piece & Control Surfaces
