Micro-political leadership • Nelson Mandela described micro-political leadership as “knowing people, trusting yourself, not ego-driven.” • It isn’t just about YOU, but involves everyone! You must be open!
Ensures stakeholder voices are heard & respected Provides opportunities for staff to be involved in developing policies Uses SIT to make decisions Creates processes & protocols to mediate staff Micropolitical Leadership Practices Aware of potential problems within the school Easily accessible Equitable manages human & financial resources Sensitive to needs of staff members. Maintains open communication throughout the school community Maintains high visibility in the school Predicts what could go wrong from day to day
