Moodle Comes to the Rescue • The wonderful opensource for language educators • Only one high-end PC and Internet will work • Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environments). Developed by the Martin Dougiamas and moodle teams. • Two major categories of resources and activities that teachers can choose to add into their own web courses using Moodle.

Some disadvantages: • like many other CMS systems, we can NOT change the format or the core design easily. • Some good ideas cannot be implemented easily without the help of good programmers. • The new version might not be developed as fast as the commercial systems.

Meeting the Needs of Teachers and Students with Tech • The CMS is a tool to integrate all kinds of learning and teaching resources • It is the teacher’s responsibility to incorporate useful tools in students’ language learning processes. • Using the Free CMS like Moodle might be the first step to do so.
