  2. CONFLICTO BELICOQUE TUVO LUGAR PRINCIPALMENTE EN LA PENINSULA DE CRIMEA

  3. En 1853, un conflicto entre monjes católicos y ortodoxos por los Santos Lugares, le va a servir de pretexto a Rusia para pedir a los otomanos, en mayo del mismo año, el reconocimiento del protectorado ruso sobre los ortodoxos del Imperio Turco.

  4. Inglaterra incita a Turquía a resistir, y ésta rechaza el ultimátum ruso llevado por el príncipe Menchikov.

  5. Tropas rusas invaden entonces los Principados del Danubio obligando a Turquía a declarar la guerra al Zar.

  6. La reacción europea no se hace esperar. Tras la ocupación por los austríacos de los principados danubianos para protegerlos de la acometida rusa, los anglo-franceses desembarcan ante Sebastopol, sitiando la fortaleza.

  7. Derrotados, los rusos firman la Paz de París, en virtud de la cual pierden la desembocadura del Danubio. Además, el Mar Negro queda neutralizado y se establece un protectorado europeo sobre los cristianos del Imperio Otomano y sobre los principados danubianos.

  8. LA GUERRA DE CRIMEA ES UNA DE LAS GUERRAS MAS IMPORTANTES DE LA HISTORIA: ES LA PRIMERA GRAN GUERRA INDUSTRIALIZADA
