Completed 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. 2. Cleared the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) conducted by the ICAI or must be a graduate or postgraduate in commerce with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. 3. Registered for the Intermediate level of the CA course after clearing the CPT or being a graduate or postgraduate in commerce. Exam Pattern: The CA course is divided into three levels: 1. Foundation Course 2. Intermediate Course 3. Final Course The exam pattern for each level is as follows:
1. Foundation Course: It consists of four papers - Principles and Practice of Accounting, Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting, Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics, and Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge. Each paper carries 100 marks, and the duration of each exam is 3 hours. 2. Intermediate Course: It consists of two groups, Group 1 and Group 2. Each group has four papers. Group 1 includes Accounting, Corporate and Other Laws, Cost and Management Accounting, and Taxation. Group 2 includes Advanced Accounting, Auditing and Assurance, Enterprise Information Systems and Strategic Management, and Financial Management and Economics for Finance. Each paper carries 100 marks, and the duration of each exam is 3 hours. 3. Final Course: It also has two groups, Group 1 and Group 2, with four papers in each group. Group 1 includes Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, and Corporate and Economic Laws. Group 2 includes Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation, Elective Paper, Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation, and Indirect Tax Laws.
