Sir Isaac Newton developed Three Laws of motion, which describe basic rules about how the motion of physical objects change, Newton was able to define the fundamental relationship between the acceleration of an object and the total forces action upon it. Number 1 Thinking aloud

Engaging students in accountable conversations about texts. Number 4
Utilising the Super Six metacognitive comprehension strategies. Number 5
Engaging students in slower, deeper and richer teaching of stage appropriate texts. Number 6
Using a range of teaching ideas, strategies and routines where the goal is comprehension. Number 7
Incorporating word walls, interactive whiteboard technology and multimodal texts to enhance teaching. Number 8
Planning and programming is evolving and changing with modelled, guided and independent opportunities for students. Number 9
I plan to marry a prince and live happily ever after. Number 10 Making use of the comprehension continuum, learning goals and class learning plans.

SMALL STEPS Give yourself permission to pace yourself as required. We are after long lasting change with Quality Teaching embedded in what we think, say and do. Do the best you can with the knowledge and the skills that you have at the time.
2011 • Consolidation of Phase 1 with teaching strategies, ideas and routines firmly embedded within planning and instruction. • Utilising comprehension continuum and class learning plans with ease. • Development of an efficient tracking and monitoring system. • Implementation of Focus on Reading Phase 2 Vocabulary.
Thank you to all staff who participated in Focus on Reading in 2010. I feel privileged that you have allowed me to accompany you on this journey. Look forward to 2011. The future looks bright. Maria Siwak
