Web Browsers “Browsers” are the interface tools you use to get online and browse or search the internet. Common browsers include: Google Chrome Internet Explorer Firefox Safari
Bookmarking/Adding Favorites A simple way to save particular pages or links to come back to them later. Why is that useful in an online school setting? Saves valuable study time Quickly come back to what you were working on “Bookmark” something to read or go over later.
How to Bookmark/Favorite: • Chrome: Click the Star icon in the far right of the Address bar • IE: Click the Favorites icon at the top right- choose “Add to Favorites” • Firefox: Click the Bookmarks dropdown box to the right of the address bar and search- choose “Add to Bookmarks” • Safari: Click on the Bookmarks tab along the top; choose Add Bookmark; then “Add” when prompted.
Accessing your Bookmarks/Favorites • Chrome: Click the Chrome menu button to the right of the Favorites icon. Choose “Bookmarks”; then “Always show Bookmarks bar” • IE: Click the Favorites icon to view existing Favorites • Firefox: Click the Bookmarks dropdown box to view and manage existing Bookmarks • Safari: Click on the Bookmarks tab along the top to access your Bookmarks
Activity: Bookmark it! • Locate an appropriate web page you frequently use or want to use that you haven’t Bookmarked in your Browser of choice. • Bookmark/Favorite it! • Open a new browser page and attempt to go back to it via your

Email basics: cc, Bcc CC (Carbon Copy): Sends a copy of this email to another recipient. Their name is clearly visible to all parties. BCC (Blind carbon copy): Identical to CC, but these recipients are hidden from those in the “To” field.
Email basics: Reply, Reply all Use the “Reply” field to respond to the original sender. Note: Most of the time this is all you actually need, regardless of how many people were also copied or sent to. Use the “Reply All” field when it’s important that more than one person see your response; or to keep the copied party in the loop. Use Reply All sparingly, particularly in an educational setting.
Basic Keyboard Commands Using keyboard commands can be a quick way to accomplish something the mouse does slower. Easy to remember and a simple way to do something when you’re in a hurry. Sometimes referenced in tasks or homework assignments online
