  1. Giving Account to God What will, or can we say at judgment?

  2. Giving Account to God Surety There will be an accounting: • “So then each one shall give of himself to God,” Rom.14:12 • It will be the time of settling up, as we might say, Matt.18:23 • It will be a time for the deeds of life to be recompensed- eitherfor good or bad, 2Cor.5:10

  3. Giving Account to God Misconceptions It doesn’t mean: • To justify ourselves, Matt.7:22 • Or to explain reasons for failures, Matt.25:24-30; or, • To make excuses,Rom.1:20;Luke 14:18-19

  4. Giving Account to God Accountability It does mean each will be judged: • For refusal of the gospel, Matt.10:14-15; 2Thess.2:10 • For refusal to repent, Acts 17:30-31 • For refusal to obey, 2Thess.1:7-10

  5. Giving Account to God But… Accountability It does mean each will be judged: • For thoughtless (or useless) words, Matt.12:34-37 • For thoughts & intentions, Heb.4:12; • For hidden sins, Eccl.12:13-14 • For deeds, Matt.16:27

  6. Judgment is only scary for the unprepared, 1John 4:15-18! Giving Account to God It is also true that: • Jesus paid the price for your sins, 1John 2:2 • He is your Advocate, 1John 2:1 • If you simply obey Him, 1John 2:3-6 • Then, your sins will be remembered no more, Heb.8:12 • And there will be no condemnation, John 3:16-21 Are you prepared to “give account”?
