  4. Q. Do I have to know the units? A. You will be responsible for knowing and understanding standard units in the metric and English systems for for linear and angular position, distance, velocity, and acceleration as well as mass, time, force, momentum, impulse, work, energy, power, torque, volume, density, mechanical stress, deformation, strain The class is structured so that the flow of presentation and required use and knowledge of standard units will reinforce this fundamental information and put them into long-term memory Q. When problem solving in laboratory, lecture, or exams do I have to show ALL my work? A. YES!! The exception will be true false and multiple choice questions. We are humble instructors and not psychics. You must PROVE to us that you understand the material satisfactorily. There must be sufficient detail so that a fellow student outside this class could follow your work and understand what you have done. KINE 426 - FAQ

  5. Q. If I have any questions about the class, can I contact you? A. Absolutely. Please feel free to ask a question during class, after class, email me, give me a call, make an appointment. Specific content questions will help you most in your exams, but I will be happy to answer any questions pertaining to class material, strategies for the exams, whatevery’s on your mind. We have lots of material! Please use it to your advantage. However, downloading material is NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR STUDYING!! Similar to Chemnistry or Organic Chemistry or Physics you will need to put in significant time every night! Q. Since the notes are posted, attendance is not mandatory, I don’t have to come to class? A. You are all legal adults, and my intention is to treat you as such. This is a VERY difficult class to master without attending class. Exercise Biomechanics is an applied science, meaning that we must understand both the Basic Science and Applied principles that are the foundation of Exercise Biomechanics. ***DANGER*** This class requires THINKING!! KINE 426 - FAQ

  6. Am I responsible for the Hall text and the Sieg & Adams text on Tests and Quizzes? A. Yes. Q. Do you curve? A. No. I am sorry. Never have and never will. We believe in criterion referencing within this class. There are opportunities for students to earn extra credit on Pop Quizzes, Exams, and in lab. assignments KINE 426 - FAQ

  7. Q. Howdy! I am contacting you for the first time! I am very concerned about my grade! I’m not sure I did well on the Final Exam! I really need a good grade (C/B/A) for my internship/student/teaching/graduate school/professioinal school! Can I please, please, please, please perform some extra credit?! A. I am very sorry. All grades are Final - the class is over once the Final Exams are returned to me. My only responsibility is to faithfully and accurately record the grades, and must follow the syllabus.. To be fair, I must provide ALL students with exactly the SAME opportunities to earn and extra credit during the course of the semester. This is done with pop quizzes, on exams, and as deemed appropriate by the instructor, informing the class of such opporutnities. I am more than delighted to answer any questions about class content and issues in preparing for the exams. Alas, without a Time Machine, it will be impossible for me to answer your questions and provide guidance to help you on your exams. KINE 426 - FAQ
