Factory settings reset • Briefly press the power button to activate your second-generation Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD. • Swipe down from the top of the screen to see device options, then tap More to display the Settings menu. • Tap "Device" and select "Factory Reset". • Tap "Clear All" and then tap "Yes" to confirm. The Kindle restarts and restores the factory settings. Wait about five minutes. The tablet restarts and prompts you to connect to a network. • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter your password. Once the tablet has connected to the network, you will be asked to register your Kindle. • Enter the email address and password for your Amazon account and click "Register".
