  2. What does FLA do? • Promotes Florida libraries of all types • Advocates for library funding, laws, and intellectual freedom and privacy rights • Acquaints the public and government officials with library issues

Maintains relationships in the Florida library community • Provides members with • Information • Professional development • Continuing education • Collegial environment for sharing • Publications & guidelines • Platform for issues • Scholarships and recognition awards • Leadership opportunities • Networking/communication tools

  5. Advocates • Library Day event at the Florida Legislature • Professional Lobbyist • Library Day in Washington, D.C. • Legislative Committee
