  1. Rachna Hostel, Pune Project Steward: Hitendra/Kiran May 6th, 2004. More information available at http://www.ashanet.org/projects/project-view.php?p=453 Project Area More than 50 villages spread over three talukas (Mulshi, Haveli, Velha) in Pune, Maharashtra.

  2. Project background: About fifty children have dropped out from school because they live in a remote hill area and had to walk four to six hours every day to reach the school. They are all from economically backward classes. Rachana recently started a 2-room hostel for 25 of them with the help of a local social worker. It is only a temporary arrangement, as they don't have sufficient funds. They would like to rent a bigger place so that they can accommodate all the children and gradually move them to mainstream education. Therefore, they are searching for financial help for this project. The Organization - Rachana

  3. Short-term goal is to bring and keep these children in school (main stream education). Long-term goal is to bring these children in the process of integrated development. Funding Request: $6500 Non-Recurring: $1300 Recurring – first six months: $2600 – First Installment Funding: $3900 Second Installment funding (after 6 month project report): $2600 Goals
