SLS-RFM WG summary • Problems report: • Only problem is with status of recommendation 2.4.18 (see separate presentation). • Future work/charter: • Future work continues as per charter – no changes/delays foreseen • SCCC-8PSK (along with APSK modulations) proposed by ESA in Paris will be presented also in Montreal to the coding experts: • Evaluation of ESA proposal by other Agencies is planned for Spring 2005; • Preliminary results of hardware tests foreseen for Spring 2005; • Joint Coding and RF&Modulation meeting expected to be needed in Spring 2005. • DVB-S2 ETSI standard proposed by CNES shall follow same route as ESA’s proposal.

  4. SLS-RNG WG summary • Work in progress on following milestones: • Review of requirements in navigation/ranging performances of future missions; • Review of techniques available to meet the requirements, e.g. regenerative ranging, Delta-DOR, high frequency ranging; • Results to date: • Requirements review is on going (first iteration completed); • Revised recommendation 2.5.6B (Delta-DOR) was approved  RNG WG resolves to submit RED recommendation 2.5.6B for Agency Review; • Work on regenerative (PN code) ranging is progressing at fast pace: four candidate codes were presented; • Number of actions was taken to try and complete analysis of the four presented codes with timeline as per charter.
