Eighth Grade Team Eighth grade teachers and the campus instructional specialist for ELA will create a database of instructional strategies specific to each sub-population by October 2014 to increase the overall passing rate to 70% of all eighth grade enrolled students on the first administration of the 2015Reading STAAR test.
Verlene Masters To increase by 10%-15% the8th grade Pre-AP students’scores on the 2015STAAR Reading testfrom Level 2 to Level 3 (Advanced) through increased rigor and instruction in TEKS and strategies (i.e., use of dialectical journals, ACE strategies).
Jerry Shafer To increase by 15% the number of 8th grade PAP students attaining a Level 3/Advanced rating on the 2015STAAR Reading testby increasing the rigor of instruction through the use of dialectical journaling, higher levels of questioning, and the ACE strategy for answering short answer questions.
Quanta White To improve 8th grade Special Education mainstreamed ELA students’ reading comprehension through a variety of methods (e.g., technology, Kagan strategies, Marzano strategies, Gradual Release of Responsibility model)in order to gain a minimum of 10% growth on the 2015 STAAR Reading Test.
