  1. MARKETING, PR & COMMUNICATIONS NICK DRAKE

  2. Overview • Marketing, PR and Communications fulfil many functions within the District • We maintain the District Website & 1250 online news. • We produce the online and paper District Directories. • We issue virtually all emails from the District • We advise clubs on marketing and PR, provide training and support on websites and social media,we advise on Club communication strategies • We work particularly closely with the Membership Committee on District PR Grants.

  3. Ongoing RIBI Initiatives • Providing that the RIBI club marketing levy is agreed at the next RIBI conference the We’re for Communities Marketing initiative will carry on. • This includes: • Advertising in specialist trade magazines aimed at certain workgroups – last year was “Blue Light sector” • Advertising via selective mailshot • Using Google clicks advertising • Providing “We’re for Communities” advertising material from the RIBI shop. • Results from this year show a four fold increase in the number of hits on the RIBI membership page on the RIBI website.

  4. Continuing District Initiatives • In the forthcoming year we will continue to have funds available to help clubs with their marketing and PR initiatives. • The aim of the funding is not only to help with increasing membership but also to raise the public awareness of what Rotary is. • Any club or group of clubs may apply for a matching grant of up to £250 for a single club or more for a group of clubs. They need to provide a sound business plan, this will be reviewed by the PR grants committee.

  5. We’re for Communities – the video • At all Rotary gatherings there are always a number of people in the audience who have not seen the We’re for Communities video. • Therefore, I will show this video. Every time I see it I draw something new from it. Please use it where ever you can to promote Rotary and the work that it does. • Thank you for your attention – see the video athttp://youtu.be/vUIUbK5nGCU
