UFABC - Universidade Federal do ABC Short History • 26/07/2005 – Creation of UFABC • August, 2006 come into exercise the first 100 teachers • September, 2006 starts the first graduating class • August 2007 are recommended the first six graduate programs by CAPES • Today: about 500 teachers, 8000 students. • Dozens of international cooperation with companies and universities

UFABC also has a mission to explore new paths in scientific and technological research, without frontiers, applied to the search for the secrets of nature, to the invention of new technologies and to the rational criticism that all intellectual production is subject to. The UFABC also considers fundamental to be open for interactions with society, contributing to the material and intellectual welfare of the people. • 100% ofteachershave PhD withexclusive dedication. • AgreementsandcontactswithkeyscienceinstitutesofBrazil. • ~ 50 newlyconstructedlaboratories. • Areasofcurrentinterest: • renewableenergy, aerospace, biomedical, environmental, telecommunications, roboticsandnanotechnology.
