Installing and Configuring the SyncQ with Outlook.
Give Sharing Access to others to view and edit your Calendar.
Scheduling Events with Multiple Attendees.
3. Wumail Wumail is the Primary Email and Calendar.
Access 24/7 anywhere with Internet access.
Can be used with Outlook or Thunderbird.
Outlook and Thunderbird show mirror images of your mail in Wumail.
IT IS THE SAME MAIL.
Any deletion in the web client of Wumail will effect Outlook or Thunderbird and visa versa.
4. Setting up your Outlook Profile Set up new profile in Outlook
Open Outlook
Click on Tools>E-mail accounts>Add a new e-mail account
Personal information
Incoming/Outgoing mail server:
wumail.widener.edu
Write Server name on BoardWrite Server name on Board
5. Setting up your Widener Directory in Outlook In Outlook, Click on Tools>e-mail accounts
Add a new directory
Add directory>next>LDAP>add
Server name:
directory.widener.edu
More settings>search tab
Search base: o=widener
Click apply>Click OK
6. Installing SyncQ from WUmail Installing SyncQ
Log into the WUmail client through your Internet browser at wumail.widener.edu
Click on Options
Under Downloads > Click on SyncQ
Scroll down on page to Installing Outlook SyncQ
Click on blue text syncQ.exe
Install the SyncQ client (Outlook must be closed)
7. Configure SyncQ Open Outlook
Log in with username and password.
Configure Personal Settings:
Enter in personal account settings
VERIFY
SyncQ Items
Calendar
All Events
Only the past 1 month
Tasks
Contacts
Synchronization Director
Outlook to Server
Server to Outlook
8. Setting Conflict Resolution
Conflict Resolution setting under SyncQ
Click on arrow and set for:
Disabled
Favor Outlook
Favor Server*
Background Synchronization
Performing a Synchronizing Outlook with Wumail
Choices: Disabled to 4 hours
9. Wumail Set-Up Allow others to view your calendar Set up Wumail first.
Log into the WUmail client
Click on Options >Calendar >Sharing Controls
DO NOT Publish your Calendar
Adding a user
Click on User:
Scroll to External Widener Directory
Type in Name >Find>Add>OK
Setting Access Controls
Read Only
Full Access
Free Time Search
Request Meetings
Close WUmail
10. Configuring SyncQ in Outlook Open SyncQ
Click on Options >SyncQ tab
Click Add Shared Users
Type username
Verifying the User
If you have full access, you can add both Sync Directions
Read Only access will grey out Outlook to Server
Click OK
11. Users to Synchronize Check box next to User’s name
Click Apply
Review Status info for each user
Click OK
Click on the SyncQ icon on toolbar to Sync Wumail with Outlook
12. Viewing shared Calendars in Outlook Open Outlook
Click on Calendars
Check off calendars you want to view
Calendars will open side by side
13. Viewing Shared Calendars in WUmail Open Wumail
Click on Calendars
Look for new names under Shared Calendars
Click on User name to access their calendar
Calendars can only be displayed singularly
Users must give you permission to view their calendars.
14. Scheduling an Appointment in Outlook Open Outlook
Click on Calendar
Click on “New” icon on the Outlook Toolbar
Add Subject and Location
Pick Date and Time
Set Reminder
Click on Scheduling Tab
Click Add Others>Add from Address Book
Click Advanced>Find>Type Last Name>
Find name on list>Click OK
Click Send
15. Recurring Appointment Click on “Recurrence” icon on toolbar
Customize Appointment
Click OK
Click “Save and Close” on toolbar
16. Checking Attendees Responses Click on the Appointment to open
Click on the Tracking tab
Each invited guest will need to accept or decline on their Wumail or Outlook calendar
After guest accept or decline the invitation their responses will appear next to their name.
17. Setting up Appointments in Wumail Open Wumail
Click on Calendars
Click New
Type Title>Pick time>Set Reminder>Add Attachment>
Click on Schedules
Click User:
Source – Click External Widener Directory
Type Name>Find>Add>OK>Add Event
18. Customizing Appointments in WUmail Click Repeat Options to set schedule for repeating appointments (Staff meetings, vacations or conferences)
Click on Check Conflicts to see if the time and day will be acceptable to all guest
Click on Suggest time if someone is busy.
The system will find a day and time that is convenient for all parties
Cancelling the appointment removes the appointment from guest Wumail calendar and sends them an email notice.
