‘Partnerships for the Future’ – What happened at the meeting • Cllr Evans explained why he had asked for the review: • Make sure partnerships achieve something as there are lots of them • Make sure partnerships are good value for people’s time • Good time because lots of changes are taking place in health and social care
‘Partnerships for the Future’ – What happened at the meeting • Terry Parkin explained how the review had been carried out: • Questionnaires and interviews • Looked at good things and bad things • Looked at what other councils do
‘Partnerships for the Future’ – What happened at the meeting • Partnerships should be based on: • Service users coming to meetings • All groups having a voice • Valuing people’s time • Knowing what they should be doing – having a clear agenda and work programme
‘Partnerships for the Future’ – Recommendations • The Learning Disability Partnership Board will meet twice a year • All partnerships in Education, Care and Health will get together twice a year at a Big Meeting called a Conference. There will be one for adults and one for children.

What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • How will our voice be heard? • Through the Partnership Board and Big Meetings. Reports will be made to decision-makers • Will the Partnership Board exist anymore? • Yes, the Partnership Board will meet twice a year
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • Will the schools still be involved? • Yes – the Partnership Board will be for all ages. • What will happen to support for service users? Will there still be briefing meetings? • There will still be appropriate support so that people can take part in the new arrangements.
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • Will there still be a co-chair who is paid and who receives support? • This is still to be decided. • Will there still be support for young people from the special schools? • There will still be appropriate support so that people can take part in the new arrangements.
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • What will happen to the sub-groups and Carers Forum? • The sub-groups will stop meeting after July. The Carers Forum will also stop, but carers can join the Carers Group for everyone. Carers can still come to the Partnership Board. Personalisation Sub-Group Good Health Sub-Group Carers Forum
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • When will these changes take place? • Meetings organised up to the end of July will still take place. The new plans will start in September. The new Big Meetings will take place in September. • Who will write the agendas for the Big Meetings? • This is still to be decided. Old meetings New meetings
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • Why is there a Big Meeting for adults and one for children? • It will act as Bromley’s Children’s Trust Board – this is a meeting the Government says has to take place. ???
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • Which Big Meeting should people from the schools go to? • They can choose according to what is on the agenda. Transition will be covered by both Meetings. • Will all reps be able to go to the Big Meetings? • This is still being decided.
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • What about things like the Big Health Day? • Extra meetings like this could still take place. • How will we be involved in deciding how the Partnership Board will work in future? • This is still being decided.
What does this mean for the Partnership Board? • When will we be told things that haven’t been decided yet? • Councillors still need to agree with the new plan for partnerships and this won’t happen until June. Decisions about support and how the meetings will run will be made after that.
