  4. News Package Practice • Before you film your own news package, you will create one with the footage that has been provided. • Review the Cyclocross footage • Write a script about what you imagine is taking place at this event • Record a voice over and edit it together • Export a playable file

  9. News Package • Cover a story, event or incident • It must tell a story • Should include: • An Intro • Stand-up or voice over • Sound Bytes • Natural Sound • An Outro

  10. Personal Profile – Long Form • Select a subject to interview • Look for interesting features that will warrant interesting visuals • Someone who likes reading as a subject might be slightly less interesting than someone who can sing, dance, draw, do a backflip, etc.

Personal Profile – Long Form • Requirements • At least 2 minutes • Multiple interviews • Either the same person on more than one occasion • Or a second person talking about the profile subject • Include B-Roll • Include natural sound & music • Incorporate original graphics • Export final version to playable movie file

They Tell a Story • Cover an event • Interview a variety of event attendees • The more, the better • Gather B-Roll • Edit together a story without the aid of using a stand-up or voice over • You should only be using sound-bytes you gather at the event • Keep a shot log as you go that gives you an idea of what your interviewees talked about to help build your story
