Role of Force Medical • Serves as Staff Advisor to CNSF • Oversee/Advise/Support the Surface Force Medical Departments • Privilege Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs)
Role of Force Medical • Staff, Train, Equip, Maintain, & Monitor the Medical Departments • Promote Force Health Protection and Wellness • Ensure highest quality health services
CNSP Professional Affairs • Administer the CNSP Credentialing & Privileging Program • Track and Maintain 84 Individual Credentials/ Professional Files on: • 68 Medical Officers • 16 Nurse Corps Officers • Maintain CCQAS Database • Coordinate the activities of the CNSP ECOMS
Ships Equipment Replacement Program (SERP) • Primary Goal: standardization of medical equipment throughout the fleet • Secondary Goal: reduce unit cost with purchase contracts for large quantities of units
Technology • Provide current technology to optimize health care delivery: • SERP Equipment • SAMS/TMIP/CHCS II-T • Telemedicine • CR DR • Teleradiology Teledermatology • Teleophthalmology Telepsychology
CMR (con’t) • Based on current percentage of each item to produce a chartable metric point • Derived from current report requirements and SAMS/TMIP • Produces a metric point that can be charted for trending purposes
LPD-4/LSD-41 Manning • Current EDVR for both class of ships call for a HM-8425 (LPD E-5, LSD E7/8) • Move afoot to replace HM-8425 with HM-0000 • TYCOMs believe “keep as is”
