  5. New DOE Structure • The new regional office structure is consistent with the 10 standard federal regions used by most government agencies. • 4 DOE representatives; a fifth will be hired.

  6. Coordinators’ Council • A new committee formed to improve communication between DOE and coordinators to help DOE understand the specific issues of each region and establish program priorities • The Council started meeting monthly in July 2006 • Members: • Participate in monthly conference calls, web casts, and electronic discussions • Recommend coalitions for designation and renewal • Identify funding and partnership opportunities • Report on coalition successes and challenges • Gather input from the coordinators in their regions and report Council activities to coordinators and stakeholders • Two coordinators from each of DOE’s six former regions serve on the Council

Coordinators’ Council Representatives • Midwest: Francis Vogel, Wisconsin Clean Cities and Kevin Herdler, St. Louis Regional Clean Cities • Northeast: Steve Linnell, Maine Clean Communities and Andria Adler, Greater Long Island Clean Cities Coalition • Southeast: Dave Pelton, Clean Cities of Middle Tennessee and Tobin Freid, Triangle Clean Cities • Western: Linda Urata, San Joaquin Valley Clean Cities and Mark Brady, Puget Sound Clean Cities • Central: Beverly Miller, Utah Clean Cities and Stephanie Lee, Houston Clean Cities • Mid-Atlantic: Lauren Robbins, Maryland Clean Cities and Ellen Bourbon, New Jersey Clean Cities Each region also has two alternates.
