  2. Zoom/Reverse Zoom • Zoom is a feature of many cameras and camera phones that makes the subject appear "closer", filling more of the image area. Zoom is used to construct the image of something getting bigger or stronger. • This can be used in the media to make something appear stronger or larger than it really is. Or it can be used to locate small objects which are hard to find or see and vice versa for reverse zoom.

  3. Following pan/ Surveying • Pan - short for "panoramic" shot; a horizontal movement in which the camera is turned from the left to right or right to left to follow a moving subject or give a sweeping view across a scene. • A following pan would follow the target of attention as a surveying pan would simply just survey the target.

  4. Tilt • the vertical equivalent of a pan, in which the camera is titled up or down. • A tilt can be used to create suspension or to make something appear unstable or out of control within a frame often used in action/drama movies.

  5. Tracking • Tracking shot (dolly shot) - a shot in which the camera is positioned on a wheeled platform or dolly to create smooth, steady movements.

  6. Crane Shot • In film making and video production a crane shot is a shot taken by a camera on a crane. • The most obvious uses are to view the actors from above or to move up and away from them, a common way of ending a movie. • Some filmmakers like to have the camera on a boom arm just to make it easier to move around between ordinary set-ups.

  7. Process Shot • a shot in which action takes place in front of a screen on which an image already filmed is projected

  8. Steadicam • A Steadicam is a stabilizing mount for motion picture cameras, professional video cameras used in film making and video production which mechanically isolates the operator's movement from the camera, allowing a very smooth shot even when the operator is moving quickly over an uneven surface. Informally, the word may also be used to refer to the combination of the mount and camera.
