Facilitation in the Classroom Adjust your presentation • Face the students when speaking • Clearly indicate important ideas • Focus on students meaning not the grammar • Increase wait time for answers
When speaking to ELL student • Ask questions in simple language • Ask for elaboration “tell me more” • Be a good listener • Provide difficult words
Best Practice Strategies • Establish a routine • Write assignments and schedules on the same place • Assign buddies • Include students in all activities in some way • Use graphic organizers
