  2. Our History • Started in 1997 • Became independent in 2004 • Increased focus on Accountability • 5 year Slogan. “Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise”

  3. Our Governance Men who have sex with men, Women, NGO’s, Youth, Faith, Labour, Positive Networks, Media, Business, Activist Networks the UN and the Global Fund.

  4. Objectives • To catalyse and strengthen national, inclusive campaigns for accountability on Universal Access; • To increase involvement in campaigning for accountability on Universal Access within and across international constituency-based Networks; and • To increase access to resources and information to support more effective, campaigning for accountability on Universal Access.

  5. Young people and WAC • The Youth Programmeaimed in 2008 to increase involvement in campaigning for accountability on universal access within and across international constituency-based networks’ • Through: I. Facilitating dialogue and partnerships; II. Development of resources; and III. Support around Key events

  6. Young people and WAC I. Facilitating dialogue and partnerships • Youth Campaigning Consultation • Youth consultation list serve • Facilitating fundraising initiatives II. Development of resources • Factsheets developed with key partners • Youth Partnership Alerts • Youth WAD posters

  7. Young people and WAC III. Support around Key events • HLM on HIV/AIDS • ICASA • International AIDS Conference • Partner of Mexico Youth Force • Activities such as Young Positive Media workshop and Youth Partnership Initiative

  8. Challenges • Sustainability of youth organisations • Funding • Capacity • Linkage National / International • Language

  9. 2009 and beyond: • Making Universal Access real for youth at the National level • Integration of Human Rights • Strategic Review • New programmes on Women and Key Populations. • Based on extensive evaluation: continue with facilitating dialogue, resource development and support around key events.
