(CJ) • In October, Geeta Kaur agreed to be Project Leader • Geeta proposed 4 phase project over 4 months that included expansion of current wall by 5 feet. Finish 4 phases by Baisakhy day to have a high quality user friendly library. • Staring Early November, about 60 e-mails exchanged between about a dozen persons including sub-committee members and all effected parties including BKS members. (Geeta) • Had meetings with the Principal and Vice Principal of BKS. • Contractor ready to expand the wall including 2 doors--$2,800 • Not issued because of the petition. We respected that.

Some facts • Old Darbar Hall: 60’W x 70’L = 4,200 Sq feet • Current Library: 35’W x 12’L = 420 Sq feet = 10% • Proposed Library:35’W x 17’L = 600 Sq feet = 14% • Stage + Palki Area: Approx. 420 square feet = 10% • Current partitioned area/class: 90 square feet • Current total partitioned classes: 11
Other Facts • The wall is NOT a structural wall • It is a non-load bearing just a partition wall • It does not even go up to the ceiling • No permit required from the town hall; Contractor can help • Current wall has one door. It should have two doors from fire safety point • The current wall is made of wood. Usually interior partition walls in public places are made of steel. • Cost of proposed wall with two doors and steel frame is $2,800. Can be done during BKS holiday this December
Response to Petition Statements • Structural Change----No. No load bearing wall • Structural Changes were not proposed, discussed or approved at the 2011 meeting---correct; However the project over all was proposed and turned into a funded project (CJ) • Was proposed, discussed and approved during 60 e-mail exchanges and among about 12 persons (Geeta) • City approval not required. Contractor can explain • BKS is off Christmas time. Good window for wall expansion
