  2. 6 Steps • Identify the learning objectives • Look at the curriculum to decide what is best face-to-face (F2F) and what is best as eLearning • Consider the integration and relationship between the F2F and eLearning • Develop the most appropriate eLearning activitiesto achieve the learning objectives • Decide how will you assess these activities • Choose the most appropriate technology

Successes - Mathematics • Aim • To improve mathematical understanding of students studying Science degrees • Methods • GeoGebra – geometry tool • Maple – formative tests • Results • GeoGebra – initially students wanted to be told the rules they needed rather than understand the concepts • Maple – students responded well

  7. Successes - Business • Aim • To enhance understanding through peer learning • Methods • Blogs • Academic posted current, controversial topics • Results • High level and standard of engagement

  8. Conclusion • 6 step model helps to mainstream BL • Some academics expect BL to provide a magic solution to teaching
