To think about • Courage is being willing to trust God – even if there seems to be no way out and no one who will join you. • Wisdom is to seek for solutions from God that require me to trust, but also act.
Acting on faith – when we don’t know the ending • (Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. • (Hebrews 11:7-8) By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family….{8} By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Shamgar • Faith: Shamgar trusted God to help him overcome extreme odds – defeating 600 Philistines. • Creativity: Shamgar used an unconventional weapon to battle the Philistines. • Courage in a time of fear: Shamgar fought when others wouldn’t even travel roads in fear of attack (Judges 5:6).
To think about • Faith is trusting that God can use me differently than He uses others. • Courage is facing fears instead of hiding from them. • (Psalms 56:3-4) When I am afraid, I will trust in you. {4} In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
